Bike or walk along the Rail Trail in Charlotte’s South End neighborhood, and you’re sure to come upon the historic Dilworth Artisan Station building. This three-story building has been a furniture factory, a textile mill, and it even stored soldiers’ cars during World War II!
Now the building is home to local artisans, and the new restaurant and bar: Canopy Cocktails and Garden, the latest concept from Raleigh-based Hibernian Hospitality Group.
Our team at Liles was thrilled to help bring this adaptive reuse project to life. With architectural design by Cline Design Associates, Canopy features a bar on the main floor, as well as an additional bar, a private room upstairs, and a patio.
For Liles, Glenn Monaco was the Super overseeing all aspects of the project, including the self-performed millwork by Liles which included all of the shelves, woodwork and trim. Liles also did the shell of the building and had no surprises along the way. The result is a beautiful new restaurant and bar in a historic, artistic space.
Be sure to check out Canopy, and if you’re there on a Friday, don’t miss the Gallery Crawl that happens on the first Friday of every month!
