Grinnell Water Works

Location: 1435 W Morehead St #240, Charlotte, NC 28208

This adaptive reuse project was for Grinnell Waterworks, a creative office space located in the heart of Midtown Charlotte. This historic brick building was originally built in 1930 as a manufacturing facility, but was redeveloped in 2001. The space features exposed brick, beautiful natural light, and original industrial doors and windows.

The Liles team led the charge on this beautiful renovation, consisting of upgrades to the exterior entryway, lobby/corridor, and two existing suites.

The exterior entrance portion of the project included the creation of a new concrete platform seating area for use by tenants desiring to gather, eat, or meet outside when the weather is nice. The lobby/corridor renovation consisted of a beautiful, new, open-concept layout along with new paint, flooring finish, millwork, and the installation of a "living" green wall to complete the aesthetic. Lastly, the renovation of suites 100 & 120 included modifications to the layout as well as a remodeled cafe and kitchen area.
