Nordstrom Rack

Liles Construction has completed renovations for a new Nordstrom Rack location in Matthews, NC along with Kimco as the development partner. The existing retail building (formerly home to a Bed, Bath and Beyond store) required extensive demolition and rewiring.

This high-end retail project involved intricate electrical work in order to rewire previous panels to new locations for power, lighting, and low voltage systems, including specialty BusSTRUT lighting, telecommunications, IT racks, intrusion detection and surveillance, and more.

Some elements of the existing facility were able to be salvaged and repurposed. The flooring from the previous Bed, Bath and Beyond was ground, polished, refinished and sealed for use in the new store. And the entire back-of-house for the new Nordstrom was framed using existing space, including the loading dock and receiving areas.

The Liles team facilitated multiple coordination meetings with the owner to complete the project on a tight schedule, and multiple Nordstrom vendors were contracted to perform specialty installs such as mobile storage shelving systems, specialty lockers, and dressing room partitions and mirrors. Thanks to these collaborative efforts, the store was fully operational and stocked by opening day!
