Liles Construction was proud to complete this brand new $8 million self-storage facility on-time and within budget. The project scope included a 28,000 square foot, three-story building with two elevators and a full turnkey site package, built using pre-engineered metal.
Our team navigated several challenges over the course of the project. The second-floor concrete pour occurred during the cold month of February, requiring the use of space heaters to maintain a high enough temperature for the concrete. A few additions to the scope were also made mid-project to accommodate the specific needs of the facility, including a fire pump room to address inadequate water pressure from the municipal supply, and a Bi-Directional Amplifier (BDA) system to ensure adequate emergency radio frequency coverage within the building. A new water branch line was also necessary, requiring extensive testing, NCDOT encroachment permits, and additional certifications from both the city and county.
Unique features of this project included: A private sanitary system and drainage field, a sediment pond to capture and filter sand and debris from storm runoff, and a comprehensive access control system with an entrance gate, barrier arms, pivot gate, and sliding gate.
The facility is now fully operational, providing safe and secure storage space for local residents and businesses.
