Liles Construction was proud to play our part in completing a new pedestrian walkway at the Barton Campus of Greenville Technical College. The bridge passes over a gully and creek between the Student Success Center and the new Prisma Health Center for Health and Life Sciences.
The campus was originally built on a landfill. This and the large amounts of rock crews ran into during the geotechnical construction phase posed some challenges for our team. However, after some trial and error with both helical piles and micropiles, project engineers were able to find a solution for the foundation. Weighing in at 63,000 pounds, the completed bridge is over 145 feet long and 12 feet wide.
Liles Construction works with commercial clients in North Carolina and South Carolina. We look forward to earning your trust and beginning our partnership. If we can answer any questions, or if you’d like to discuss your construction project further, please contact us today.
