We always appreciate getting to work on projects that support our community. So when our friends at Messer Construction asked us to help with the Cabarrus County Courthouse remodel and new construction build, our team at Liles Construction dove right in.

The courthouse project involved 240,000 square feet of new construction, as well as a 75,000 square feet remodel of the original courthouse, built in 1975. One of the primary reasons for the expansion is that over the past 30 years, the population of Cabarrus County has more than doubled. This expanded facility has 12 new courtrooms, a beautiful new atrium entrance, plus room to expand in the future. Another unique feature of the Cabarrus County Courthouse build is its “mechanical penthouse,” which is a floor solely dedicated to the building’s mechanical or electrical equipment.
